The matter was settled under confidential terms to the client’s satisfaction after summary judgment motions were decided a few weeks before trial.

Defense counsel for man charged with murder who shot and killed person trying to enter his home. After a one-week trial, the jury found the homeowner not guilty. The public record of the charges was later expunged.

Halcomb v. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority

Co-lead Trial Counsel for Plaintiff injured during unsanctioned arrest and imprisonment following alleged evasion of a subway fare on the District of Columbia Metrorail system. After two jury trials in federal district court comprising thirteen total days, a jury returned a verdict for Ms. Halcomb and awarded her compensatory damages and $175,000 in punitive damages.

Lead counsel for the widow in civil suit against night club seeking damages because an intoxicated employee of the club killed the client’s husband in an early-morning collision. The matter was settled under confidential terms to the widow’s satisfaction.

Defense counsel for foreign service officer charged by Department of Justice Public Integrity Section for multiple improprieties in the discharge of his duty while stationed in a U.S. Embassy in South America. After a lengthy investigation, Messrs. Drumheller and Hollingsworth obtained a resolution only resulting in a monetary fine for the client, a result far below federal sentencing guidelines.
